 Responsible for all aspects of the fingerprinting process including performing live scans, processing applications, obtaining dispositions on applicants with an arrest from NCIC/rap sheet. Responsible for fingerprinting new hires, resource parents, and anyone covered by the MS Code. Responsible for pulling applications from the email, pulling rap sheets from the live scan webpage, and return files with no arrest to the appropriate county or HR within two (2) business days, send a justification letter to applicant as well as county staff with two (2) business days. Communicate effectively with clients, general public, and other professionals during the initial process. Train lower-level Program Specialist Supervises and evaluates the work of lower-level Program Specialist. Participates in various informational conferences and meetings.

•Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the work of lower-level Correctional Case Management Specialists.•Trains lower-level Correctional Case Management Specialists.•Maintain professional relationships with department personnel, county personnel, consumers, families, and service providers.•Counsels staff about compliance to rules and regulations and initiates disciplinary actions.•Responds to questions from inmates, inmates’ families, attorneys, and others about status decisions and about agency and institutional policies and regulations.

 Interviews new inmates to determine appropriate classifications to recommend unit assignment, job assignment, school program, and mental health services. Formulates individual programs for inmates who address appropriate treatment goals and needs and evaluates programs as they develop; modifies treatment as needed. Places inmates in appropriate housing units based on classification criteria. Acts as liaison between offenders and other entities within the agency. Conducts one-on-one and group contacts with inmates and assists inmates in developing better problem solving techniques and tolerance of ongoing problems. Compiles social histories of inmates, which reflect the nature and extent of criminality, current and prospective social problems, developmental history, and causative factors. Compiles special progress reports on inmates being considered for parole, supervised earned release, work release, or transfer and makes the appropriate recommendations for the consideration requests. Performs related or similar duties and required and assigned.

 Responsible for maintaining security of juveniles who have been arrested. Officer designee public speaker to educate local area youth about negative aspects of incarceration. Work closely with counselors in determining the welfare of detainees. Guarded in transit juveniles to courtrooms and medical facilities. Monitor the activities of detainees from centralized control center with the aid of closed circuit television cameras.

 Provide day treatment, individual and family counseling, daily documentation, home visits, and school visits. Coordinate services between mental health, school, DHS Youth Court, and other agencies in order to assist a continuum of services to the clients. Provide consultation and education services to other agencies regarding program services and make appropriate referrals. Conduct follow-up with program clients and assist in the maintenance of program goals. Maintain professional competency through attendance at meetings, in-services, conferences, and workshops, participate in clinical staffing and supervision.
