I currently cover Crime and Public Safety for the Daily Breeze, a daily newspaper that covers the South Bay. My responsibilities include covering crime and breaking news events as they happen and major court cases involving crime in the South Bay.From May 2016 to March 2018, I worked as a city reporter for the Orange County Register, and was responsible for gathering and generating news content in the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita and unincorporated areas (Ladera Ranch, Coto de Caza, Rancho Mission Viejo) for two weekly versions of the Saddleback Valley News since May 2016.Topics include breaking news, City Council, School Board and water district updates, community events, profiles and features. Content is published in the Saddleback Valley News and the Local section of the daily Register on occasion.In a previous position, I covered community sports for San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach, including game stories, previews, features, profiles and more. In November 2015, that role expanded to include Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Lake Forest and Laguna Hills.Primarily responsible for content produced in the eight weekly newspapers that reach those 10 cities and on occasion, will submit stories for the daily Register and OCVarsity.com. Most content was high-school based.Interview subjects and story ideas have ranged from youth sports to post-retirement recreational activities (such as golf).Sports covered include: Football, basketball, baseball, softball, rugby, lacrosse, tennis, golf, volleyball, water polo, cross country, track and field, swimming, cycling and more.

Responsible for producing live audio-only internet broadcasts of local high school sporting events including set up and tear down of equipment, testing equipment and connectivity, setting up recording software and executing the live broadcast. Also responsible for finding content through research, conducting interviews with players and coaches, live in-game interviews, playing advertisements and more.Knowledge of recording programs such as Audacity and Sound Forge, and knowledge of live streaming software such as Adobe Media Encoder, EdCast, LiveStream and others. Have worked with broadcast headsets by Sennheiser, Shure, Audio Technica and have operated mixers by Shure and Behringer.Also an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for notes and stat sheets.Projects include being the voice of the baseball team for Lutheran High School of Orange County and providing color commentary for high school football games.

On-air voice of high school athletics, most recently Orange Lutheran High School baseball in Orange, and Whittier Christian High School football in La Habra.Other schools covered include La Habra High, Canyon High in Anaheim Hills, Oaks Christian in Westlake Village and a handful of others in Orange County.Covered Santa Ana College and Golden West College football in Fall 2014, which included play-by-play, on-air halftime interviews and, on other occasions, recorded interviews to be played at halftime.Broadcasts include football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball and interview shows with various coaches.Also responsible for setting up, using and tearing down my own equipment before, during and after each broadcast.

Coverage included sports for three high schools, youth sports and athlete profiles of collegiate and professional athletes from the city of La Habra.Produced content and posted online, select stories from the website, lahabrajournal.com, was used for the print edition, which was published twice per month.Content included game stories, athlete profiles, features, previews, alumni reports and coverage of hot topics. From August 2013 to May 2014, created and handed game assignments and athlete profiles to three interning reporters and edited stories before posting to the website.
