I teach high school IB Math and Chemistry. I have the privilege of fostering the next generation of scholars. My students are awesome, they empower themselves to direct their own learning through advocating and communicating their needs. I support them inside and outside of class with their academic and personal needs. Education is the cornerstone of our society, it is a privilege to be a part of these students' journeys and the community of Summerland.

TandemLaunch is an incubator and venture capital firm that matches emerging tech with entrepreneurs. Identified promising technology in academic literature and proposed it to the Tech Scouting team. Gained exposure to fundraising for start-ups, negotiating IP’s and assessing technology viability. Scoured academic literature, identified promising technology and conducted evaluations to determine the possibility of translation of the tech to a promising start-up venture.

I teach several sections of Chemistry to undergraduate students, receiving positive feedback along with high participation levels.I literally "throw myself into my classes", ensuring that my students learn all necessary concepts while enjoying the class and gaining the skills needed to succeed in their academic endeavours.

SOLEYMANI RESEARCH GROUP, MCMASTER BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING: Undergraduate Thesis • Experimented with deposition of thin films of gold nanoparticles that may be applied for biosensing devices. * Main research question involves the optimization of combined effects of surface wrinkling (to produce nanofeatures with tunable wavelengths) and multiple layers of nanoparticle films (to increase the film thickness). * It is hypothesized that the combination of these approaches will improve biosensing-related properties such as conductivity, SERS and limit of detection.• Present weekly productivity reports at meetings, where the team collaborates to help solve our colleagues’ research problems.• Submitted two abstracts for the 229th ECS Meeting; both report new, reproducible fabrication platforms for biosensing devices.

FEHLINGS NEUROREGENERATION LAB, TORONTO WESTERN HOSPITAL: Clinical Researcher • Published a systematic review comparing different cutting-edge spinal cord MRI techniques (listed above). Utilized skills in reference-managing software (Endnote©) to narrow database of 7000 articles down to 50, which were used as sources for the review. These articles focused on five techniques that use innovative algorithms to improve MRI quality.• Assisted in a neurosurgery clinical study that investigated the persistent problem that MRIs of the cervical spine are poor indicators of patients’ actual health. Performed physical assessment of patients’ extent of injury by using a meticulously practiced protocol. This involved booking appointments, listening to symptomology, encouraging strength tests.• Attended several neurosurgery conferences to explore current research frontiers and share findings.

Assist the Spirit Teams and Game Day Host in crowd engagement at sports functions, special events and charitable engagements. Entertain audiences in McMaster spirit and entertain groups as large as 37,000 (audience at the Vanier Cup in 2012).

As Sports & Games Programmer, ran sports and games for children with disabilities (mainly Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Muscular Dystrophy). Created daily sports program plans. Assisted with care-giving including feeding, toileting and hygiene for the children. Made life-long friends and helped each child get the most out of their summer camp experience.

Commenced as a volunteer at the veterinary clinic and later hired as part-time Kennel Staff (concurrent with completion of high school academic studies). Assisted with the smooth operation of the clinic by cleaning cages, opening/closing the office, and walking/caring for animals who are at the clinic post surgery.
