Creating framework for a social determinants of health screening process in the federally qualified health centers of Benton and Linn Counties through a pilot funded by delivery systems transformation funding. Assisting in data management, creating methods of maintaining and storing data, and reporting metrics to the guarantors. Working closely with clinical teams to assess patient’s barriers and health inequities through the use of the PRAPARE tool. Also, making referrals to social services, assisting with applications, and facilitating the transportation needs of patients.

Studying the relationship between arsenic poisoning and vitamin D deficiency in a rural population of Bangladeshi women of reproductive age using biostatistical analyses.

Used Endpoint and Real-Time PCR techniques, paired with cell culture, Sanger sequencing, and glow assays to determine the validity of a DNA oligomer designed to promote exon skipping in mRNA of the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR). Also, to observe the effects of VDR related genes when the DNA binding domain is missing.

Interned with the Ministerio de Salud Pública assisting in several different clinics across Ecuador. Spent 5 weeks rotating through different clinics in Guayaquil, Ecuador assisting doctors and nurses by taking vitals, histories, and speaking with patients. Also volunteered with Control Vectorial handing out mosquito nets, treating water sources, and speaking with Ecuador's most vulnerable population about the risks of mosquito born diseases. Spent 2 weeks in Quito working alongside doctors in a large, state-run medical facility performing basic medical duties and helping to organize community events. Spent 2 weeks in Puyo, Ecuador in the Amazon rainforest working with doctors in rural clinics designed to improve the health of indigenous populations. Also spent one-week backpacking with the Shuar tribe through the amazon learning about indigenous medical practices.

Developed protocol for derivation of protective provisional values during the event of an environmental emergency. Used prior and new knowledge to adjust current risk assessment procedures to work during emergency situations to establish advisory values. Used Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR) modeling to prioritize chemical exposure in the event of an emergency.

Responsible for maintenance of hospital facilities, stocking facilities, working in a team situation, performing small procedures such as administering fluids, cytology, scrubbing in and assisting surgeons, assisting in emergent situations, and discharging clients.

SMILE is a federal STEM education program for underserved K-12 students in 60 schools across the state. Wrote curriculum for SMILE elementary programs. Investigated activities for teacher presentations for low-cost, after-school science programs. Organized events and presented curriculum to teachers across OR for the SMILE clubs.

Organized events for, and worked directly with traditionally marginalized incoming freshman OSU students interested in STEM programs. Served as role model and program leader.
