Aerospace Engineer
Current2018-Present Submarine Launcher Systems' and Propulsion Engineer• Provide engineering design support and manage contractor design activities for various Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Strategic Systems programs, including: Missile and Launcher Support Equipment Development, Improvement of Trident Training Facilities• Manage and review contractor designs and impact analysis for subsystem refurbishment and modernization activities (Engineering Change Orders)• Maintain hardware configuration design control, per system requirements and specifications, for existing operational equipment/systems using updated vendor parts• Support system qualifications and requalification by conducting on-site testing and reviewing vendor statements of work• Resolve fleet technical issues in coordination with Department of Defense (DoD).• Work closely with Trident Training Facilities to ensure FBM sailors receive mission essential training with up-to-date, submarine-representative hardware• Communicate high-level system issues to various levels of management and recommend corrective actions to maintain technical performance while minimizing schedule and cost risks2016-2018 Missile Systems' Avionics and Controls Engineer•Led contractor teams through design processes, design verification, validation, and qualification for missile avionics, control systems, and other hardware.•Led government/contractor hardware production and design failure investigation groups (MRB/FRB). •Monitored hardware production for quality assurance implementation, drawing conformance, and failure trends. ▪ Navigated frequent configuration management issues on a complex mix of old, new, and developmental hardware from manufacturing and production through end use.
