My duties in this role involved: checking the fire equipment and evacuation routes; ensuring people have completed annual fire training; and leading people to the evacuation point in the event of a fire drill or emergency.

After the completion of my Bachelor of Science (Honours) I continued to work with theOptical Micro-Manipulation Group in order to further investigate the new computationaltechnique we developed and publish the results we found. My work in this capacity ceased when I commenced my PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

After the conclusion of the Summer Research Scholarship I was hired as a casual researchassistant by the Quantum Technology Laboratory in order to continue performing the sameduties. I was let go when there was no longer enough funding to support my position.

During my undergraduate studies I participated in The University of Queensland’s SummerResearch Scholarship program in order to gain real research experience while working inone of the university’s research groups. The duties I performed included: data logging andsummary; computer aided design of new research equipment; liaison with the manufacturinggroup responsible for creating the new equipment; and the computer programming of varioustools to assist with research.
