While at ORA I worked on Global Alert: an innovative online tool that increases interaction and connectivity to marine debris by allowing users to report, rate and map plastic pollution levels in their rivers via mobile devices and web-based platforms. This will broaden awareness, aggregate information flow, and spur solutions to reduce plastic debris outflows via the world's rivers.Besides app management, I also helped organize two Plasticity Forums in Hong Kong and Portugal. These events bring together a diverse network of stakeholders across the plastics industry in order to develop more sustainable practices. Across the organization my role involved working on any remote tasks including social media promotion, grant writing, writing, and even presenting on behalf of the organization at two World Bank organized events. The focus of Ocean Recovery Alliance is to bring together new ways of thinking, technologies, creativity and collaborations in order to introduce innovative projects and initiatives that will help improve our ocean environment.

The main focus will be on companies in the consumer goods and technology sectors, as well as other service industries such as airlines and hotels that may use or sell plastic-intensive products on a relatively large scale. The PDP will also encourage smaller companies to become involved, some of whom may have new solutions or best practices that could be applied on a larger scale.
