About Nathaniel Schwartz
Nathaniel Schwartz is a Security, Identity, and Product Management at Costco Wholesale. He possess expertise in agile methodologies, scrum, agile project management, mobile applications, mobile devices and 29 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working with Nat for several years in an eCommerce division and was able to observe his dedication to the product management craft first hand as both a Sr Product Manager of Security as well as in his role on our eCommerce Planning team. There are a couple things that resonate with me when thinking about our time working together. Nat is great at sharing and seeking out input on his product thinking which is how I was exposed to his work in security. What is clear from our conversations is that Nat takes the time to dive deep on analysis and research to define the problem to be solved and get to a meaningful hypothesis with outcomes that I was able to validate in our quarterly business reviews. One of my favorite interactions with him was one quarter where he asked for my help in critiquing a video where he flexed his storytelling muscles to recap his quarter in 2 minutes. I offered a few tidbits, but not much was needed as he laid out the storyline with flair, great data, and succinctness which is key PM skill not every PM has! This video, among others, was posted on our intranet site and helped bring the Security domain more attention around the company. Nat is a driver and a stakeholder connecter with a fearless approach to executive leadership communication. In that communication, his poise and ability to articulate complex concepts and data is a true asset which I witnessed in various monthly/quarterly review meetings. This is in part because he has experience guiding and coaching in various roles like his planning role, or his Agile coaching role and a background in education (philosophy I think it was!). Lastly, I had the pleasure of working with Nat on a division planning team for several quarters. Nat was responsible for developing the first cut at our prioritization process, a version of which continues to evolve today. In the first go, he led leaders from across eComm through prioritization of hundreds of initiatives looking at complexity, effort, value and other attributes to get to a strategic plan on which we could act. Nat helped us work through tradeoff questions, business value discussions, and had the product operations process muscle to provide real guidance on the process. Through a career, we get to work with a lot of people from whom we learn, collaborate, and are inspired. I count Nat as one of those people in my career that I really value and would love to work with again.", "Nat was someone given any topic will deep dive, ask the right questions, and ramp up with a drive like no other. Nat brings organization and progress to anything he works on. I once worked with Nat on a Strat plan, and before Nat got involved the process was overly complex, didn't tell the right story, and wasn't visually inviting until Nat reworked it. As a result we were able to get it approved.", and "I am delighted to recommend Nat for their outstanding contributions at Expedia. He has been an integral part of our team, consistently delivering exceptional results and demonstrating exemplary leadership skills. Nat has defined the strategy, metrics, roadmap, success criteria, detailed requirements, and customer feedback loops, ensuring that the product meets customer needs and aligns with the company's goals and values. I highly recommend Nat for his exceptional contributions, leadership, and expertise in mentoring, and everything product management. Nat is an invaluable asset, and I am confident that they will make significant contributions to any organization they join in the future."
