Major, Armor Officer & Civil Affairs Officer
CurrentI served as an active-duty officer in the United States Marine Corps from May 2004 to July 2008. I was an 1802 Tank Officer, assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division out of 29 Palms, California. I made two deployments - the first from March 2006 to October 2006 to Al Anbar, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 05-07, and the second with the 11th Marine Expeditionary unit on a WestPac cruise. I left active duty with the Marine Corps as a Captain in 2008. In early 2019, I entered the Marine Corps Reserve as a Company Commander with 4th Tank Battalion. Upon divestment of tanks within the Marine Corps, I gained an additional MOS as a Civil Affairs officer and served with the 3rd Civil Affairs Group. I was promoted to Major in September 2021, and am currently with the Marine Corps History Division as a Joint Historian.
