At San Diego State University, I pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Bioengineering and graduated in May of this year (2022). During my time at San Diego State, I have taken a multitude of classes that would help me in an engineering career. I also have been working hands on and in the construction field for six years. In construction, I have learned a lot about project management and how to problem solve as issues arise during a project. I have significant experience in leadership roles, both academically and in extracurriculars, which will allow me to work well with other people and step up as a leader when necessary. I served on my fraternity’s executive board for three years as Vice President, and President of the 100+ man chapter. I also served as the team lead in my senior capstone engineering project, where I kept in contact with the Northrop Grumman sponsor and the professor while keeping our group on track to complete tasks and assignments. Joining ACOSE my senior year, I took the opportunity to become Secretary of the club, while also becoming a general member of INCOSE. I have been working as an Associate Automation Engineer at Hunter Industires for almost a year now, and the experience has been invaluable. I have been given projects to work on from start to finish, from design, fabrication, and testing. I have also been lucky to have received great on the job education and have begun learning how to wire automation equipment, design electrical schematics, and how to write code to run the machines. I have also taken a step towards leadership and took over the 3D printers in our group and am responsible for maintenance, ordering inventory, and investigating other 3D printers that may be added. I believe life should be spent learning and I hope to continue learning indefinitely.
