Under adviser Professor Deborah Levin and in collaboration with Dr. Akhil Marayikkottu, developed MPI-parallelized DSMC-Lagrangian framework (C++) to analyze dynamics of solid particulates within flows over immersed bodies in high-speed, high-altitude flight enviroments.

Under adviser Associate Professor Xin Zhao, researched the application of femtosecond lasers for micro-machining and multi-functional surface processing. Recipient of $500 CECAS Undergraduate Opportunity Grant to study optical effects of laser-induced periodic surface structures. Created system for measurement of structural color properties due to laser-induced periodic surface structures. Designed and conducted experiments using femtosecond laser to study relationship between incident laser parameters and optical & wetting properties of polymers with goal of advancing existing lens technology.

Led team of 16 multidisciplinary engineers with goal of designing and manufacturing a successful competition rocket required to fly to an apogee of 30,000 feet. Oversaw CAD design, structural analysis, manufacturing, and construction of all structural components of competition rocket. Managed budget of $3000 for construction of rocket’s airframe.

Designed die and punch tooling required for the manufacturing of the company’s “first of a kind” metal seals. Assisted manufacturing team by providing desired tooling or devices to increase the ease and efficiency of work. Created routers to trace the unique manufacturing steps and satisfy engineering standards for “first of a kind” parts.

Led project for implementation of Universal Robot to increase efficiency of seal production methods. Extensively utilized CAD and additive manufacturing to provide rapidly prototyped manufacturing support solutions including Universal Robot end effectors.

Under adviser Dr. Irina Viktorova, analyzed potential for heat explosion of thermally insulated and conductive systems. Combined numerical methods and MATLAB to provide sensitivity analysis and predictive data extrapolation for properties of exothermic chemical reactions within complex systems.
