During my Extended Diploma in Professional construction I worked alongside civil engineers at Balfour Beatty, where I gained a lot of experience in civil engineering. I tested materials for example, concrete cubes to determine the compressive strength, aswell as dealing with risk assessments and following health and safety procedures at all times. Aswell as using the setting out equipment. The project consisted of constructing pavements and road surfaces opposite UCLAN University in Preston, as well as an additional building under construction for the University. Balfour Beatty gave me a more in depth look into the career and i enjoyed being apart of the team.
