Responsible to deliver safe and reliable day-to-day operation for Area 2 units at the Salt Lake City Refinery (FCC, GRU, Jet Treater, Reformer, ISOM, ISOALKY, CWTs). Responsible for achieving operational excellence, helping to coordinate maintenance priorities, helping to coordinate capital projects for the Area, tracking operating expense spend, making budget trade-off decisions, facilitating execution of process and reliability improvements, and developing team engagement and culture.

Supervise and manage IMPACT (Initiative for Managing PACesetter Turnarounds) team to managing Refinery (planned & unplanned) Turnarounds. Turnarond activities include Major Unit Shutdowns, Hydrotreater Catalyst Change Outs, HF Alky Pit Stops, and coordination with Major Capital Projects. Implement BIN Best Practice Standards, perform and lead Turnaround benchmarking studies (Solomon & APN), drive consistency and standardization of the IMPACT processes. Use processes to drive quality decisions and support for multiple groups across the organization. Drive studies and implementation of new products for Turnaround executions.Provide site customers with detailed KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) associated with ongoing Turnaround planning activities.

IMPACT - Initiative for Managing Pacesetter TurnaroundsThe IMPACT Team Leader (ITL) provides leadership and coordinates the planning, execution and administrative functions for major unit shutdowns with the objective of executing cost effective, safe, and on-schedule shutdownsThe ITL is in charge of forming and leading the IMPACT core team for shutdown events. Core Team leadership includes the following: ensuring alignment with the shutdown philosophy, coordinating the planning and scheduling of the work per the Project milestone schedule, and managing the Core Team to deliver the most cost effective, safe, and timely turnarounds that achieve the reliability and other drivers for the turnaroundCollaborates with Maintenance / Reliability, Business and Operations Planning, and Operations in developing projections for Major Unit Shutdowns including estimates of size, scope, nature, and timing. The ITL is also required to track and control spending and manpower during the shutdowns.Demonstrates personal and leadership commitment to Safety, Reliability, and Incident and Injury Free Operations.
