I secured contracts for our research teams based in Mogadishu and Hargeisa, identifying business opportunities, drafting budgets, and liaising with clients.Worked with a wide range of clients, including the UNDP, COOPI, USAID, World Vision, Health Poverty Action, the International Labour Organisation, Oxfam, and the World Bank, and have written program budgets ranging from $8,000 to $8 million.

Worked in the Policy Department, where I ran several semesters of our Congressional Security Scholars program, a twice yearly nine-week lecture series open to congressional staffers.Also designed, managed, and edited our quarterly policy paper publications series. During my tenure as editor we released seven policy papers on subjects ranging from security sector reform in Myanmar, to diplomatic opportunities in Iraqi Kurdistan, to acquisitions reform at the Pentagon.Served as the editor and coordinator for the sixth edition of the Truman Project's National Security Briefing Book, one of our flagship policy products. The Briefing Book serves as a guide and desk reference on a wide range of national security and foreign policy issues, and is popular among candidates and policymakers alike.
