Manual Developments was a design studio based in Darlinghurst. Carried over from our first business Manual (Fashion Label) we continued to explore the ideas of "walking billboards" and "viral concepts" through design, this time, as an agency.As an agency that focused on Print Design most of our work was centred around illustration, typesetting and publishing design, packaging design, brand identity and development. Like our name suggested, our style was often characterised by textural aesthetics and a hand-made feel. Clients included: Nike, The University of Sydney, Village Roadshow, Legion Interactive, Rodeo Show and Casula Powerhouse.

Managed the advertising schedule for 5 national magazine titles for Express Publications including Hot 4s, Australian 4WD, Caravan & Motorhome. Designed the ads for the advertising clients in this group of motoring magazines. Produced all finished artwork for print production.

'Manual' (definition: of the hand) was a fashion label created by three young Sydney designers wanting to deliver a locally produced T-shirt with a difference. During the 2000's T-shirt boom new labels were popping up everywhere, the standard being baggy tees imported from China with a boring logo printed on the chest. In response we launched our lifestyle brand of "walking billboards" promoting our own artwork that was "manually" hand-printed on "manually" constructed garments. Hands-on involvement in all aspects of the operation including: designing of the graphics, collection themes and concepts, silk screen-printing of garments, design of garments (patterns), sourcing fabrics and materials, sampling and managing garment production (cut, sew, trim), sales and marketing, website design, event management, marketing and promotion.
