I lead a team of 20 represented craftsmen (IBEW & IAM unions) who maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and infrastructure supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter production line. My team maintains assets totaling over $1.8 billion in a building over one mile in length equaling approximately 2.65 Million square feet. Since starting the position I have: - Increased Preventive Maintenance Work Orders completed on time from a low of 33% to a weekly average of over 93% for my team. Additionally, I assisted my peers in achieving the same high PM completion standard expected by our manager (92% +). - Instrumental in the evolution of the organization serving as a key leader between union stewards and management. I have implemented several written policies and standards to help improve morale, consistency and accountability. a. One such example was implementing a work plan for technicians that support production on weekends. Previously, their role was reactionary only. I filtered through our deferred maintenance backlog and created job plans for them to work while waiting for trouble calls. In result I helped decrease our PM backlog by over 80%, work order backlog by over 50% and increased work completion on the weekends by an astounding 2000%. - Improved work order assignment from approximately a 72 hour suspense to a same day turnaround - Created a Maintenance Supervisor quick reference guide for POCs, skills, references and documents needed to be successful; this was adopted and standardized for use by all Facilities leadership - Lead and manage (2) rotational positions where leadership program participants get a chance to experience real leadership challenges and roles in maintenance.
