While growing up in Santa Cruz and attending the University of California Santa Cruz and San Jose State University, Nathan started at a young age following his father footsteps in working hard. Nathan in his late teens simultaneously owned and operated a hookah lounge, a motorized bike/ATV repair and sales shop, and a hydroponics retail store from 2002 to 2007 in addition to also helping his family with their businesses and investments.Shortly after seeing the opportunity to expand in 2007, Nathan decided to move to Hollywood, California to open his second hookah lounge, which soon became known as “The World-Renowned Hollywood Hookah”. After selling the Hollywood hookah lounge to British boxer Amir Khan in 2013, Nathan decided to open “Star Hookah Lounge” on Hollywood Boulevard. By the end of 2015, Star Hookah Lounge became the world’s first hookah lounge licensed franchise that also manufactured many of its own products from charcoal to hookahs. It also finalized a tobacco brand and several other products such as manufacturing furniture. Further, there are patents pending on the Company’s own hookah table design as well as establishing trademarks worldwide.Currently there are two locations. One in East Hollywood and another in Hollywood with a third arriving in 2020 along with all lounges incorporating Hemp. Other interested parties in the area are trying to get approved for locations and loans for franchisee locations around the world. Along with his success in the hookah lounge industry, Nathan has opened several other businesses including becoming a partner for a natural aphrodisiac energy drink called Cloud 9. Cloud 9 is currently being shopped around the world for a licensing deal as well as being approved for sale in many countries. Currently distributed through Metro Distributors and Amazon, its formula is also being approved to fit various countries’ guidelines in addition to being sold as a premium beverage at many lounges and Hustler store locations around the world.Nathan’s current daily operations include two Los Angeles locations of The Star Hookah franchise. The franchise’s rapid growth has been insurmountable with negotiations on two more California locations, one Nevada location, one Texas location, and hopes of having locations in Amsterdam and China by the end of next year.
