Nathan Maertins is an experienced consulting leader who excels at understanding complex challenges and developing thoughtful solutions informed by data and experience. Nathan has been an integral part of developing Canada’s first, on-reserve supported housing complex and is actively working to bring this model to more communities across Canada. Nathan has experience developing partnerships with government and funding agencies along with post-secondary and community agencies to advance important projects. He brings in-depth knowledge and experience in initiating new projects, completing successful funding applications, and providing project management for new building initiatives.Community Safety and WellbeingNathan has worked with municipal, provincial, and First Nation governments and police services, and non-profits in the mental health, homelessness, and recovery sectors. His experience ranges from conducting policing needs assessments and organization reviews to developing new policing models and business cases for change. He possesses a first-hand knowledge of many community safety challenges through working on the frontline in a homeless shelter and combines this knowledge with a strong business sense and understanding of financials and data analysis to deliver unique value to community safety organizations.
