The most important part of my work is the wood itself. I find purpose in uncovering the nature’s artistry of stretching, contracting, and twisting fibers into extraordinary shapes, textures and colors that continue transforming decades after the tree is no longer living. The wood is sourced from rarely-accessed woods and riverbeds of Oregon. My sculptural furniture and lighting preserve the unique organic forms of tree trunks, branches or burls and contrast the weathered textures against the unexpected beauty of the polished grain. In addition to artistic furniture, I specialize in functional indoor and outdoor furniture from reclaimed and salvaged wood. My copper art collection is further inspired by my fascination with beauty and diversity of orchids and the material properties of copper and its alloys. In addition to art and furniture making, I have extensive experience in commercial and residential architectural design, construction, and carpentry. My work is integrated and featured in restaurants, offices, wineries, and homes around the San Francisco Bay area. I am available for custom installation projects of any scale, as well as specialty commissioned work. My studio is located in the heart of the Peninsula with easy access to all parts of the Bay.Services ProvidedCustom designed art, sculpture, furniture, and lighting from reclaimed or salvaged wood, as well as metal and glass.
