In this role I did many different tasks. I was hired originally as a temporary worker for the new café, which I worked with management to prepare for opening and run. After the Summer I was taken on as a seasonal employee due to my performance. In this role I learned about food safety and stocking, as well as receiving and documenting food as it was shipped. I also perfected customer service skills both in the café and working in other places in the store. I increased my knowledge of internal controls for cash and handled money responsibly during my time there. I worked behind the register, in the café, in the back organizing merchandise, and on the floor restocking during my time in the bookstore. This catch-all role taught me important skills in customer service, stocking, interpersonal communications, and flexibility in the workplace.
