Software EngineerWintec, Inc. Nov 2010 - Jan 2013Designed and implemented the Ethernet communication logic responsible for the reception and transmission of weapon commands and states between a Stores Management System (SMS) and our embedded weapons release system. This included the design and implementation of both a local and remote logging scheme for all incoming and outgoing messages.Developed an SMS simulator using Qt 4.7 that allowed us to test and debug our embedded weapons release system prior to integration.Designed and developed upgrades to our existing Multiple Launcher Emulator (MLE) in support of the Joint Air to Ground Missile program. This involved migrating the system from C++ .net to C++/CLI. This effort also included a major refactoring of the existing launcher code to allow for the addition of new launcher types.

Software EngineerNova Tech Solutions, Llc Apr 2010 - Nov 2010Lead developer for the XPlan Mission Planning System’s Feature Service. The Feature Service, a client/server Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service, is an abstraction layer that provides XPlan with a consistent and standardized interface used to retrieve point data from multiple data stores. The service uses Microsoft’s Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) to allow for the creation of “pluggable” data sources. This approach allows third party developers to add their own data stores to the service at will. This service was constructed using the .NET 4.0 Framework, and written in C#.

Senior Programmer AnalystCch A Wolters Kluwer Business Dec 2008 - Apr 2010Alphen Aan Den Rijn, NlDeveloped the next generation of CCH's line of tax and accounting software using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). This suite of applications leverages Microsoft's Composite UI Application Block (CAB) framework for client side consistency and communication between the various components of the product suite. User interface components have been developed using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and client/server communication is conducted using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). The suite is was deployed using the Software as a Service (SaaS) architecture. My role as a senior member of the team was to guide development and software design. This allowed me to help the junior developers on the team construct better organized and more easily extendable code. -
Application Architect Senior ProfessionalComputer Sciences Corporation Jun 2007 - Dec 2008Global, UsDesigned and developed a flexible and robust web application using ASP.NET 2.0 that calculates and reports various metrics of interest from a Learning Management System (LMS). This solution featured both textual and graphical (bar charts) displays of data. Designed and developed a software system that allows for the un-tethered use of traditional online courseware. This system leverages previously developed solutions and facilitates streamlined downloading of courseware while eliminating data redundancy on target systems. Downloads are accomplished via a custom C# windows form application that communicates with ASP.NET 2.0 web services. These web services are powered by a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 back end. -
Senior Software EngineerAvalex Technologies Mar 2007 - Jun 2007Designed and developed a software system for supporting Norwegian Coast Guard P-3 surveillance. The software system allows Tactical Coordinators to view real time radar target data, enter points of interest via latitude and longitude, and select targets or points of interest for viewing via queuing of a WESCAM MX-20 or as fly to points that are sent to the flight crew via ARINC 429. This system was written in C++ and ran on Windows XP Embedded.

Software EngineerWintec, Inc. Jul 2001 - Mar 2007Lead Graphical User Interface (GUI) and communications protocol developer on numerous unmanned vehicle development programs while working with the Air Force Research Labs. Designed and developed a multiple vehicle Operator Control Unit (OCU) that was used to control Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) using the Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS) protocol. The OCU interface was written in C++ using Qt libraries and ran on Red Hat Linux.• Our research into laptop based highly mobile OCUs was well received by the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) community. This interest led to the sale of multiple units which were used by EOD troops deployed in Iraq• Developed a PDA based hand held OCU for controlling UGVsDesigned and developed a set of reusable GUI software components and a networking infrastructure that have been used in multiple distributed simulator control projects. One such project, Multiple Launcher Emulator (MLE) involved a M299 Hellfire launcher simulation that simultaneously controlled multiple M299 Hellfire launcher simulators over an Ethernet network. These simulators directly interface with Apache/Longbow or Cobra-Z helicopter avionics. Controllers for these simulators were written in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and used a combination of both managed and unmanaged C++. Supervised a small team of software engineers in the testing and verification of various software modules currently being used in the F-15E Stores Management System.Provided software support to General Atomics for the Predator B UAV (MQ-9 Reaper). Wrote and tested an algorithm in ANSI C for Mass Data Transfer of target data from the aircraft to an on board JDAM weapon.
