As a third-year student at Indiana University, I have developed interest in the sports and business world. I attend the School of Public Health while majoring in Sports Marketing and Management. Taking courses in the School of Public Health has made me realize I have multiple skills that are great for the sports business, including, honesty, quick thinking, and teamwork skills. One skill that I have had my whole life is honesty. I try to be as honest as possible at all times. I have learned that it is best to be honest from past work experiences. Secondly, I have always been a quick thinker. I acquired this skill from playing hockey. I was a goalie, where I’m constantly forced to think quickly. Another lesson I have learned from playing team sports was teamwork, which is my best skill. Throughout high school I have had two different part-time jobs that have helped me realize that I want to pursue a career in the sports business. I would like to get a degree from the School of Public Health and go straight into the workforce from college.
