  • Department Of Education & Training, Victoria
    Program Manager
Department Of Education & Training, Victoria Mar 2019 - Oct 2020
    Melbourne, Australia
The Workforce Training Innovation Fund (WTIF) is a key feature of the Victorian Government’s new approach to training ‘Skills First’ which supports industry and employers address their rapidly evolving workplace skills development needs.I was engaged by the Australian Flooring Industry Alliance (AFIA) to manage a project funded through the WTIF. The goal of the project is to encourage more people into flooring technology apprenticeships through innovative design and delivery.AFIA comprises four industry associations: Australasian Timber Flooring Association; Australian Resilient Flooring Association; Carpet Institute of Australia; Tile and Tilers Association of Australia. My role has seen the establishment of relationships with numerous stakeholders, including Job Agencies, Local Learning and Employment Networks and many Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning departments. My presentations to promote flooring as a preferred career choice resulted in 50-75% of attendees registering for more information. Candidates then attended the program’s Holmesglen TAFE facility to participate in a half-day ‘taster session’ and gain hands-on experience across the flooring sectors and converse with industry leaders about flooring industry opportunities. This approach saw over 200 individuals register for an Apprenticeship in Flooring Technology, with a diverse age range of 15-64 years. Sixty candidates were selected by employers and entered official trials within the first 12 months. The success of the program is currently being independently evaluated. The achievements and outcomes will be presented across Victoria’s VET sector.

  • Functional Training Institute
    Director Of Education
Functional Training Institute Feb 2014 - Apr 2016
    Sydney, Australia
The Functional Training Institute is a professional development company with approximately 60 staff operating across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe. Reporting directly to the CEO, my role was to develop systems for training and onboarding of new staff across Australia and Internationally. My responsibilities included staff training and management, overseeing budgets, course accreditation and compliance across five registration bodies. A prominent success was the development of a sales strategy to encourage consumers to purchase all six programs that were available in one transaction. Previously, consumers would purchase courses on a random basis, based on what training equipment they had available. The ‘Master Functional Trainer’ program encouraged the consumer to purchase the ‘system’ over the individual programs. Once all six were completed, consumers received the title of ‘Master Functional Trainer.’ A status noting their level of competence. The new approach increased the average client spend from $480 to $2000.
  • Personal Training Academy
    Education Manager
Personal Training Academy Aug 2009 - May 2015
The Personal Training Academy (PTAcademy) was the Australian arm of PTA Global, a collaboration of 25 of the world’s most prestigious and well-respected professionals. PTAcademy was Australia’s first Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to introduce functional training assessments and systems to the Personal Training Industry. My role, as Education Manager, required me to collate all resources that were made available via our international partners to meet the ASQA Training Package requirements, and to develop learning material and resources to meet compliance needs. Additionally, the role evolved to create and customise the PD and onboarding programs for many Health and Fitness Companies, including Fitness First, Virgin Active, Genesis and Goodlife Health Clubs. My role played an integral part in the national growth and scaling of the company through the sourcing and training of new state-based team members, overseeing their training for delivery of relevant course materials at a first-class standard. This encompassed the building of presenter guides, PowerPoint slides, resources, and templates, and most importantly, strong and engaging presentation skills. PTAcademy grew from a small operation based in Melbourne, Victoria, to an Australia-wide company hosting courses in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane. PTAcademy remains one of Australia’s leading training providers
