As Team Lead for the marketing efforts of University Recreation, supervised a team of three interns, guiding them in executing comprehensive marketing initiatives. Conducted complex and broad-scope research including characterizing phenotypes from known genotypes in Aspergillus niger and identifying genotype from known phenotypes of Neurospora crassa. Identify biosynthetic pathways of interest and/or gene function through genetic manipulation of fungi. Designed sequencing primers to amplify the genomic sequence of each mutant gene for each mutant DNA strain using Vector NTI software. Perform gene knockouts and knockins utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques. Analyze gene insertion/deletions through gel electrophoresis and Southern Blot analysis. Conduct comprehensive metabolic profiling of Neurospora crassa fatty-acid biosynthesis through the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Chenomix software.

Provides marketing support to assigned recruiters throughout the state of Michigan, northern Ohio and northern Indiana. Assists the Senior Trainer and Production Superintendent in the management of $100,000+ in advertising and community relations budget annually. Develops and monitors promotional literature and utilization. Plans and conducts newly assigned recruiter marketing and sales training. Organizes, participates in and provides support for recruiting special events. Manages Center of Influence program for field recruiters. Assists recruiters in maintaining necessary liaison with media outlets, civic groups and local organizations in support of recruiting objectives.

Responsible for interviewing, screening, testing and evaluating applicants from civilian sources to achieve allocated goals. Conducts and maintains current market and production analysis for zone of responsibility. Conducts advertising and promotion program with radio and television stations in zone. Maintains public relations programs with all schools, community groups and service organizations. Works with social services programs to create Air Force awareness. Prepares enlistment case files. Conducts an annual high school and college program. Authenticates and accounts for transportation requests and meal tickets for recruits. Maintains and manages lead sources. Works local community sponsored events. Plans, organizes and conducts local base tours for interested enlisted and officer candidates.
