I have always had love of working and developed a strong work ethic as a teenager mowing lawns, detasseling corn, then in a vitamin shop, a warehouse, as a carpet cleaner, and finally as a bank teller, all before college. I was taught a strong work ethic and character from my parents and that has carried through my professional career.During college I had an internship at Bertch Cabinet Manufacturing working there over 2 summers and on Christmas breaks. I did invoicing, collections, A/P, payroll and inventory. I was asked to come back each time.My first professional job was with DaVita as a staff accountant. I was there 3 years when I was given a opportunity at Russell Investments. I was there for 4 years, but when the company decided to move to Seattle, I decided to look around. The job market of 2010 was not a friendly one, but I got in touch with some contacts from DaVita and they gave me a great offer to come back.The next 12 years were full of growth and fulfillment. I was promoted several times and moved on from my accounting roots into Finance. I was able to learn so much through our forecasting & budgeting cycles and our monthly reporting and analysis. Additionally, I was able to support multiple Joint Venture relationships with physicians and hospitals. After being promoted to a Sr Manager role in 2019, I was given the opportunity to lead a small team of Managers and Analysts. My last stint with DaVita was back on the corporate side in Corporate FP&A. There I lead a team working on monthly CFO packets, leading the Field Budget process and supporting quarterly earnings filings and calls.My most recent role is back on the Accounting side as Controller for Element Electronics. The last 2 years have been spent building the team, creating process around month end close and completing audits. I was looking for a new challenge and it has been a great stretching experience.Specialties: I am a team builder and a process engineer. I love to identify challenges, work hard to create solutions and then empower my team to grow by taking on the new process. I am pretty good with a spreadsheet and have dabbled with Visual Basic. I like using Access when analyzing large amounts of data or when trying to merge data together. I also have a knack for teaching and training and had responsibilities for training Facility Administrators and Regional Operations Directors on what they need to know to effectively run their clinics and regions. I'm highly organized and enjoy learning new technology/methods for organization and prioritization.
