Completed doctoral dissertation, titled "Active Flow Separation Control of a Laminar Airfoil atLow Reynolds Number". -Implemented a direct-feedback algorithm on a continuously oscillating airfoil. Developed blackbox models for aerodynamic response of airfoil to actuation.-Setup and executed of wind tunnel experiments on an airfoil, utilizing a variety of measurement methods [Time averaged and phase-locked PIV, time averaged and phase-locked hot-film anemometry for boundary layer investigation and wake surveys, pressure transducers (surface mounted, pitot, Kiel, boundary layer), surface oil-flow visualization, infrared camera, and smoke visualization]-Implemented active flow control in both open- and closed-loop to characterize flow of laminar airfoil at low Reynolds number. Investigating the physical mechanisms responsible for active separation control.-Gained extensive experience in wind tunnels at low and transonic speeds -Extensive data analysis, using self-written Matlab codes. -Wrote technical papers and presentations for, and presented at, research conferences. Submitted paper for AIAA journal.
