This included perfecting the Hawks sales script, practicing cold calls, conducting virtual sales appointments, and networking with other industry professionals. Additionally, I participated in several group role plays and training sessions to refine and replicate the sales call experience.

Working in sports sales during the summer of 2020 was a challenge, but I am beyond grateful to have had any internship at all given the state of the world at the time. My completely remote internship with the Detroit Pistons gave me my first experience at working for a professional sports team, one of my longtime dreams.We were tasked with contacting clients and maintaining relationships through 150 calls and 100 emails per week. In the first three weeks of selling, I sold one season ticket package for $1,575. At the time, the NBA bubble had not yet been announced, so this was before anyone even knew when the next sporting event would take place.
Ohio Athletics Ticket Operations And Sales Intern
During my junior year, I decided to take on a year long internship along with my classes. Working for Ohio Athletics allowed me to manage hundreds of customer accounts, solve ticket issues, and handle inbound phone calls. After a few months, I asked for more responsibility, specifically to get involved with the sales team. As an intern in one department and a volunteer in another, I made outbound phone calls attempting to sell full season packages for football, and smaller packages for men's basketball. At the end of my internship, I had generated $31,000 in revenue for Ohio Athletics.

Since this was my first internship, I spent a bulk of time being a sponge. I was learning as much as possible about sales and marketing, specifically in sponsorship marketing. After a full year of learning, I called and visited potential sponsors and attempted to get them to purchase signage or naming rights to Foundation events.In early 2019, I hosted the Ohio University Speaker Series, in which 3 guest panelists spoke as I moderated the event in front of 300 audience members. Through this, I was tasked with setting up and planning the entire event which included recruiting speakers, marketing the event, and collecting auction items. This helped sharpen my organization and leadership skills as I was trusted with executing the event.
Box Office Sales Intern
Working with the Lake Erie Crushers gave me the opportunity to see all the internal operations of an independent baseball team. During the four month position, I completed and learned various tasks within the sales department. I made cold calls, managed customer information, sold tickets, and solved customer issues. Additionally, I worked over 160 office hours in which I answered incoming calls, made outbound sales calls, and analyzed ticket sales data.I also got the unique opportunity to assist the Corporate Partnerships staff in a variety of ways. This included planning and executing deliverables, attending partner meetings, and sometimes assisting in closing deals. This was a special experience because I helped land partners for the organization.

During my time at the Rocky River Recreation Center, I did a handful of different tasks in different areas. During the summer, I worked primarily at the outdoor pool. In the winter, I worked in the recreation center and ice rink. In both areas, I was primarily a concessions employee, serving food and drink to residents. Occasionally, I would work in the maintenance department. This included repairing items, cleaning the facility, and painting structures. Between these two roles, I supervised and trained new hires to ensure that they are comfortable with the day to day tasks that the position holds. This taught me valuable teaching skills and patience as I was tasked with repeatedly showing new hires how to complete the job effectively.
