My hero in life was my grandfather, a firefighter who was dedicated to improving the working condition of all firefighters. When he joined the fire department it was a part time or volunteer job and he recognized the importance of a strong and developed team and fought for it. His passion inspired me.I was also inspired by my mother and grandmothers love and passion for dance. Both were accomplished professional dancers who taught me to dance and the discipline needed to be a professional dancer. They taught me to push my limits and strive to be the best I could possibly be. Growing up in the world of dance and achieving my first professional dancing job at 17, I learned to strive for the next level and continue to improve and grow. I was also taught to bring my best everyday, our audience was paying to see us at our best and everyday we showed up and gave it our all on stage. There was nothing like leaving your heart and soul on the stage and I carry that same dedication with me everyday as I lead my teams to be their very best. The lessons I learned from my family and from my time dancing, I carry with me every day in my career as an Area Manager II for Essex Property Trust. I also bring the attention for detail I developed as a professional dancer, choreographer, and Disney cast member to my current role in order to increase the customer experience and associate engagement. I believe that happy people are productive people and a strong company culture creates a more dedicated and engaged workforce.
