About Nathan Siegel

My recent work includes the development of rapidly dispatchable thermal energy storage technology, and novel approaches to extracting fresh water from atmospheric humidity. I am interested in energy and renewable fuels, in general, and currently spend a lot of time considering this question: "If you have essentially free solar electricity, but only for six hours per day, how should you use it?" I teach full time during the academic year, and enjoy developing interesting hands-on projects as an essential element of my courses. I also help other faculty to do the same with their courses. In the past I've participated in research related to proton exchange membrane fuel cells, nuclear fusion, and gas turbines.Specialties: Solar energy, Solar fuels, fuel cells, renewables, alternative energy, renewable energy, hydrogen, thermochemical, mechanical engineering, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy storage, molten salt, CSP, atmospheric water harvestingMy Links:Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=r5J735MAAAAJ&hl=enBucknell: https://www.bucknell.edu/fac-staff/nate-siegel
