Climate Systems, Design and Release Engineer working on the next generation Ford F150 Lightning- Responsible for Component Cost, Weight, Tooling Burden, Market Testing Various Suppliers, System Attribute Performance, Vehicle Packaging, Issuance of Engineering Statement of Work, Issuance of Production Tool Orders, Climate Control Strategy synergy with Climate Control Hardware, Compliance to Ford Engineering Requirements, etc.Key aspects pertaining to forward model system and component design include off cycle fuel economy credits, component weight, component piece cost, company burdened ED&T, competitiveness in the market, linking component performance to system performance, adoption of new / 'smart' component strategies to improve vehicle level attributes, and customer comfort impact with respect to decisions made at the component and system level(s). Previous role was Climate Systems Application D&R on the Ford Mustang Mach-E for High Voltage AC Compressor, High Voltage Liquid PTC Heater, Condenser, Battery Chiller, and Climate Control specific NVH attenuation components. Took the program from Pre-Program Start and intoMass Production. -Internal / External Design Reviews-Review Internal / External Test Reports-Receive, Review, and Approve supplier CAD data-Issuance of Ford Design Approval to supplier -Launch Experience / Build Issue resolution at Flat Rock Assembly Plant and Cuatitlan Assembly Plant-Supplier Onboarding-Issuance of preliminary engineering concepts to forward model suppliers-In depth trade off analyses including Off Cycle Fuel Economy Credits, Weight, ED&T, System Performance, and Component PC Cost. Analyses supports the best decision for Climate System performance as well as Ford Motor Company as a whole-Ensuring issuance of Tool Order(s) and Purchase Order(s) to suppliers for early prototype builds-Ensuring Ford Lessons Learned pertaining to Quality & Cost are implemented in forward model designs

HVAC Development Engineering for Nissan current production vehicles. Development consists of quality improvements to current production vehicles as well as generating and implementing cost reduction ideas. Implementation of quality improvements and cost reductions includes designing new components, obtaining part quotations from potential/current suppliers, on boarding new suppliers as a Calsonic approved supplier (QCDDM), deciding test procedures to validate any given design change, working with customers to obtain approval to modified designs, working with cross functional team to efficiently launch a design change, component and system level drawing release, deciding critical dimensions suppliers are to meet for any given component, and many more development related processes.

Support Calsonic Kansei project engineers in the release process of automotive components and assemblies. A lot of hands on work; giving me an experience that allows me to learn the fundamentals of the automotive HVAC. Learned a lot pertaining to heat transfer, air flow, cost reduction, best practice plastic injection techniques, injection mold design, mold flow analysis, and material science.
