Also spent time working on an abandoned exploration support pad Phase II remedial investigation, and performing backfill for oil industry Field Environmental Coordinators.

Reviewed NEPA Resource Reports for the Alaska Pipeline Project provided by the oil and gas majors to FERC. Argonne was contracted by FERC for the NEPA review.

Argonne, Illinois

Was responsible for a variety of assessment, monitoring and reporting activities for the site-wide environmental monitoring and surveillance program as well as for the Site A/Plot M (buried remnants of the Manhattan Project) program in accordance with USEPA, IEPA, DOE and Laboratory regulations. Regularly calibrated and used various water and air sampling meters. Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of large phytoremediation system (approximately 1,000 trees) and for developing and maintaining an ArcGIS system to track the history and status of the trees. Responsible for maintenance of a compressed-air groundwater extraction system consisting of 25 extraction wells. Managed sub-contractors for work projects related to maintenance of sampling and remediation systems.Member of Argonne Sustainability Committee. Participated as Secretary in an active sub-committee formed to discover and implement options for sustainable commuting. Included coordinating with Chicago based public transportation officials at PACE bus, Metra trains and the Village of Westmont. Helped introduce and market GreenRide Connect, a carpooling and vanpooling matching software. Served as committee champion to provide daily commuter shuttle service between ANL, downtown Chicago, and Hyde Park and to develop a PACE Park-n-Ride lot at ANL.

Duties included project management, fieldwork, and report writing for clients in Alaska and the lower 48 states, such as the military and oil companies. Project management work involved developing scope and cost proposals, implementing and following budgets, interacting with clients and regulators, and directing project staff. Fieldwork involved water and soil sampling, project oversight for reserve pit closures, and submitting samples to laboratories. Report writing involved interpreting analytical results, documenting Phase I and Phase II field activities, developing corrective action plans, developing sampling plans.

Served as president for 40-unit downtown Anchorage condominium association. Accomplishments included: presiding over quarterly and annual meetings; preparing agendas and reviewing budgets; organizing volunteers to paint interior; managing contracts for new carpet in building and elevator rebuild; organizing energy assessments for 12 owner-occupied units; establishing organization as non-profit LLC; consolidating bank accounts and establishing net interest income instead of deficit; ensuring adequate insurance on building and units.

Duties included: water and soil sampling; field investigations; well installation and abandonment; dye tracing in karst environments; bathymetric surveying; removing waste water and soils; GPS use (Trimble); installing well data logging equipment; light maintenance on air monitoring system; report writing; producing and reading site health and safety plans; and presenting information.

Primary duty was to identify and count plankton collected from over 90 lakes in Indiana. Performed various lab duties as required.
