Reporting to the Group CEO lead a new start-up business within MWEB to provide an affordable mobile rich media platform to Naspers group companies and South Africans at large looking for alternatives to expensive 3G/LTE data for content consumption and general internet access. Lead overall business and strategic direction with full responsibility for P&L.Accomplishments:Authored the business plan and played the lead role in the team responsible for pitching and securing board approval for this multi-million Rand project then following through setting up the operation from scratch. Closed deals with large multinational companies in real-estate, healthcare, entertainment and food and beverage sectors.Delivered Africa’s first carrier-grade rich-media capable WiFi platform and completed rollout in over 200 venues covering shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, transportation hubs, coffee shops and restaurants in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. Key participant in the Khayelitsha-Mitchells Plain Digital Inclusion Project (KMP) to provided free uncapped WiFi internet access to residents in pockets of Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain.Installed Soweto's first free shopping centre WiFi at the Protea Glen Shopping Mall.Secured an exclusive contract with FON, a Spanish crowd-sourced public WiFi hotspot solution. Directed the customisation of the FON ADSL router and world-first integrated WiFi range extender. A key outcome was a 'zero-touch' installation so customers simply had to plug in the FON router and it would automatically configure itself dramatically reducing first-time setup calls.

Reporting to the CEO lead a business unit within MWEB ISP that provides online products and services to engage and retain existing broadband subscribers. Responsible for Portal, Cloud email and storage platform, GameZone and Mobile apps.Accomplishments:Delivered new portal with updated design, navigation and new editorial feeds on a new CMS on time and within budget. Exceeded revenue target by focussing on high-yield content-driven and personalised advertising inventory. Strategically aligned MWEB as the Gamers ISP of choice linking best-in-class uncapped connectivity with locally hosted game servers and a building a community of gamers around the GameZone portal.

Reporting to the General Manager – Consumer ISP head up the Consumer Product Management function. Responsible for overall consumer product strategy, analysis, market insights, delivery roadmap and per product P&L.Lead a team of Product Managers and Analysts to reach product roadmap milestones.Accomplishments:Launched South Africa’s first affordable uncapped broadband ADSL products. Introduced South Africa’s first consumer anti-virus software-as-a-service bolted onto ISP subscription. Built a VoIP platform and launched a VoIP product which is now a stand-alone business, albeit focussed on business users.

Manage the lifecycle of Wireless Internet access products and value-added services from inception to dissolution and be the business owner for these products and services.
