At the beginning of 2020, my co-founder, Daniel McCool, and I left Microsoft to start Trustworthy. 1 month later, the whole world shut down. Welcome to Pandemicville. Fortunately, by then, we had talked to hundreds of families about the challenges they were facing in managing the overwhelming amount of digital information and related critical tasks. It was clear. Families needed a solution that not even the pandemic would stop us from building.We needed a better way to manage our important documents like family IDs, passwords, tax returns, loans, insurance policies, mortgages, retirement accounts, and more. By the end of 2020, we secured seed investment from an incredible set of Angel investors.In 2021, Trustworthy released our first product and hired early team members.In 2022: We turned on our paywall to see if early adopters would pay (and they did).Fast forward to today: Trustworthy is a platform serving thousands of families in the United States and worldwide. We have grown into the Family Operating System® where families can protect, organize, and optimize their most important information. How’s that for a pandemic baby?Here are a few fun facts about myself:– I’m an 8th-generation New Zealander. I am a proud Kiwi and a naturalized American citizen. Kiwi-erican?– I left New Zealand at 22 years old to embark on a career in the US. – I’ve held a number of leadership roles at Oracle, Sliderocket, MileIQ and Microsoft – I love the great outdoors: surfing, sailing, and snowboarding…because how could I not?– I’m a private pilot. I fly single-engine aircraft Cirrus.– I love investing in and advising other missional startups that benefit humanity.I’m on a mission to help families save time, save money and have peace of mind in our digital-first world.
