As the Manager of the Colorado Farm and Art Market, I oversaw the end-to-end operations of a twice- per-week farmer’s market that produces an annual revenue of over $225,000 annually. I also partnered with over 70 vendors that attended markets as well as various local nonprofit and community organizations including Colorado Farmer’s Market Association, LiveWell Colorado, and Springs Food Rescue. The Board of Directors I worked with provided guidance and assisted in some levels of planning and operations.Some of the responsibilities that I undertook include managing market staff, contractors, volunteers, and vendors during market days; planning events for market attendees including fundraisers and children’s activities; and collaborating with venue owners/operators. I also oversaw the administrative, human resources, financial and marketing initiatives that make the continued operation and success of the market possible. I implemented digital and social media marketing efforts that grew the market’s social following by nearly half on two platforms, and increased vendor sales by up to 20% annually.

As the Buying Club Manager I created and maintained a database of over 30 members of a local food buying club managed out of a local grocery store, and facilitated weekly ordering and member management.I was also responsible for all inventory management, including weekly ordering and fulfillment with local farms, producers and vendors. I researched and canvassed new food suppliers including farms, ranches, and food hubs regularly and brought their products and participation to the store and buying club.I also had the pleasure of organizing various community events such as new product releases, food tastings, educational speakers and community classes.

As the Manager of a 20,000 sq. ft bookstore and café, I worked with the management team which oversaw a workforce of 60 personnel consisting of bookstore and inventory associates, café baristas and servers, and support staff; while overseeing all of the financial, logistical, human resources and marketing operations that facilitate continued seamless operations. During my time with Borders I filled many managerial positions. As Inventory Supervisor, I was responsible for incoming store inventory and ensuring efficient unloading and distribution of product as well as overseeing corporate mandated returns and helping plan and implement yearly full store inventory counts. As Office Supervisor, I was responsible for AR and AP for the store, such as managing and maintaining a database of in-store credit accounts for consumers and schools, and processing weekly store payroll. As Cafe Manager I led a staff of 12 cafe employees in the daily operations of an bookstore cafe and focused on reducing waste, cost and overhead through efficient ordering systems, food storage and sales projections,In addition to serving as Manager, I had the pleasure of being a Corporate Trainer and helping establish the company’s new locations by providing training and education to new store staff. I created and shared curriculum and how-to documentation regionally and facilitated daily store training for new associates and continuing education training for existing staff.
