I can definitely say that Andreas understands the pains and needs of software developers and cares for his sub-ordinates. What amazes me about Andreas is a unique combination of deep technical knowledge, long-term strategic vision and tactical skills to achieve it. As an example, I remember discussing with Andreas how to solve a specific Docker-related technical problem and afterwards having a meeting where he elaborated on Bosch cloud strategy and topics we have to push to implement it. Andreas also teached me to search for creative ways to solve problems like dealing with budget and hiring limitations. By acting this way, he showed me and his leadership team that, essentially, sky is the limit -- you only need to identify the right way and the right tactics to achieve your goal. Moreover, Andreas has a great sense of humor which makes working with him really fun. Andreas made learning and continuous improvement one of his core focal points. Among other things, he enabled and introduced Coursera (and other online learning platforms) for a wide range of Bosch Corporate Research associates as well as our colleagues in the business units. By accomplishing this, he greatly helped to shape not just the mindset of Bosch Corporate Research but also that of the entire company.
