Responsible for Port Facility Security, HSE, Quality Control and Operations of a Grain and Fertilizer Marine Terminal.Plan, Execute and control the operational activities including short term and mid-term planning to handle the all type vessels calling at FAP Terminals.Control the quality laboratory to establish loss gain of bulk grain cargoes handled at FAP Terminals.Deliver in-house training to staff on HSE, security and quality.Participate in Initial and final Draft Survey of the vessel to determine the quantity onboard.All processing activities associated with turning the requisition into a purchase order (PO). These include Procurement of materials and third party services, Requesting for Quotes (RFQ), negotiating with suppliers

Plan efficient cargo operations and ensure the compliance procedures are followed.Supervise all stevedore activities of up to 100 permanent staff and 150 Contractual labors engaged in the loading and unloading of cargoes and vessel handling including port operations and planning on daily basis.Advise safe handling gears to be used during ship’s loading and unloading operations.Control procedures and operations of FAP laboratory in order to monitor cargo quality, quantity, deterioration, shrinkage and moisture content.Inspect Cargo storage silos, ware houses, Ship Unloaders, Conveying System, Cargo Handling Gears and open areas of terminal after each handling of fertilizer to make sure that machines are fit for handling edible grain commodity and establish need of cleaning, fumigation, and pest control and wash down as per SOP’s.Leads HSE and well being of personnel to promote safe working practices and deliver in-house staff training on safety and basic firefighting.

Lead Shift and fully responsible in managing the shift to ensure that operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, according to the SOP’s and work instructions of General Manager Operations.Ensure that terminal equipment and machinery is in excellent working condition prior to berthing of the ship. Supervise the Mooring / Sailing operations and take immediate decision for any changes.Perform emergency response drills bi-monthly basis, review the performance of staff, recommend appropriate training and maintain the record.Schedule and conduct safety meetings with all shift members along with contractual labor.

Joined FAP Marine Terminal during the construction period.Worked with VIGAN ENGINEERING SA BELGIUM and CHIEF INDUSTRIES LIMITED UK.Ensure all sections work towards the targeted commissioning schedule and available resources utilized properly.Take necessary precautions to ensure the work site is safe for testing/ commissioning.Conduct Market Survey to ensure quality, cost of procured items and in time delivery of all the products being manufactured/supplied by vendors.Established Cargo testing Laboratory and procedures for analysis of same.

Operation of process systems utilizing a wide range of control systems and equipment that includes tanks, mixers, heat exchangers, pumps, and transfer systems.Operation of manual and automatic valves, meters, pumps and transfer systems that move product between tanks, process systems and fill sources.Comprehensive understanding of plant policies and procedures.Housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment and clean equipment such as filters, tanks, sumps and other equipment. Complete sampling and basic tests of products.Perform basic maintenance and frequently inspects equipment to detect any unsafe conditions.Follow the work of new experiments, new additions to process units and house systems to assure adherence to safe work practices.Support HR team in interviewing and recruiting candidates.
