DataGrokr provides Big Data Analytics and Cloud solutions to businesses to help them make data driven business decisions. We combine our strong engineering and quantitative modeling skills to build data assets and generate value out of those data assets. As the founder of DataGrokr, I'm responsible for all aspects of the business. Apart from business operations, I lead my team from the trenches and am hands-on a multitude of technologies in the Big Data and Cloud space.

Target is the third largest multi-channel retailer in the US with revenues of $72 billion. Target India, Bangalore is an extension of Target headquarters supporting mission critical business processes in technology, merchandising and marketing.In my current role, I lead a team of talented data scientists and analytics professionals. My team focuses on building advanced analytic solutions that help our business clients make informed decisions. Some examples of our projects include identifying "best" guests for direct mail and email marketing offers, analyzing product reviews using NLP to identify product design changes, using social media for demand forecasting, etc. I provide guidance to my teams on machine learning techniques and am hands-on with Python, R and the Hadoop ecosystem.I am also part of the program team driving Target's Accelerator Program that aims to tap into the Indian start-up ecosystem and provides Target with early access to promising technologies that can be deployed in the retail space. Specifically, I manage sourcing of start-up ideas, connect with academic institutions, meetups and other industry events.In my prior roles, I led a 200+ engineering team across Java, Mainframe and Integration technologies. Our teams developed enterprise solutions that are deployed in Target's 1800+ stores, distribution centers and headquarters. My key responsibilities included hiring and developing engineering talent, setting engineering priorities and managing global stakeholders.

Argus (www.argusinformation.com) is a leading credit card analytics firm providing benchmarking and consulting services to financial services companies. Argus was funded by Oak Investment Partners and subsequently acquired by Verisk Analytics.I held various leadership roles at Argus and provided consulting services to several leading banks and regulatory institutions. Some key accomplishments include:1. Product management and development of a cloud based On-Demand BI/analytics platform.2. Managed a complex data operations environment involving over 2 billion monthly credit and debit transactions across ~800 million accounts from 40 different financial institutions from US/UK/Canada.3. Data analysis and reporting platform for the OCC (Office of Comptroller of Currency - a division of US Treasury) that serves as an early warning detection system for monitoring credit risk of US retail card industry.4. Customer profitability solution for one of the largest retail banks in the world. The solution integrates the customer’ product information and calculates customer level profitability across all retail bank products (checking, savings, mortgage, loan, credit cards, etc.).5. Collaborated with a leading credit bureau to launch wallet share analytics, providing the most comprehensive customer wallet payments view in the industry

I architected an operations data mart for the Services segment of GE Healthcare’s enterprise data warehouse. The assignment also involved building a real-time analytics dashboard which first entailed building consensus among senior executives and mediating between conflicting priorities and requirements.

Held a variety roles from architect to program manager at diverse Fortune 500 clients in financial services, pharma, CPG and transportation industries.All my roles were US based client-facing roles with significant responsibilities for building and deepening client relationships. I would typically be part of the first engagement with a given client and had the responsibility for building trust and establishing credibility. Many of the accounts I have been part of have grown to become stellar multi-million dollar marquee relationships for Infosys.
