Leading a 15-person team, I successfully transitioned this two-hospital system from ICD-9 to ICD-10 within the allotted timeframe, including managing the transition at several health centers and practices. By mitigating lifecycle changes through careful analysis of all change requests, I completed this project on time and within budgetary constraints without incurring any negative, unplanned impact to AR days, denials, coder productivity, or physician satisfaction. Further, I integrated technology to streamline processes, using QuickBase dashboards to achieve efficiency and assign deliverables while managing command center operation and information to quickly solve problems. My contributions also spanned staff/physician training functions, as I ensured deadline were met by maintaining the learning management system as an administrator. After successfully completing this project, I managed several other key revenue cycle projects, including reducing unsigned order total by 50% in three months by redesigning in efficient processes and streamlining/automating insurance clearance processes. My primary focus in this project-centered role was the implementation of Cerner SurgiNet EMR. I guided the successful implementation of this software by coordinating current and future state process reviews of peri-op services and leading a multidisciplinary team to conduct a wide-scale readiness assessment/user validation testing before go-live. In addition to this major project, which was completed successfully and on time, I led multiple process improvement projects simultaneously across diverse departments, including HIM, IT, and surgery.
