Navya M. is a Supervisor @ Blackhawk Network | Leading Call Center Process Improvement at Blackhawk Network. She is proficient in Kannada. Colleagues describe her as "It’s great that you come across standout hard worker like Navya!
Navya expertly filled the role of a Customer Service Specialist for the women's department for over a year. I was responsible for the women's department at that time and we worked together as a team.
I was always impressed by her ability to handle any task or project she was assigned. And the initiative that she takes to provide extraordinary customer service and help her team members.
Navya would be an asset to any team she joins." and "Navya was a pleasure to work with. She was super outgoing, customers and her team loved her. Navya always had a good word to say about people and situations even if they were stressful or getting out of hand. I don't think I have ever heard Navya say a mean thing about anyone. She makes easy connections with her peers and her managers that appear effortless and genuine. She made everyone feel welcomed and accepted.
I was the new supervisor and she made sure that her team listened to what I had to say even when it was clear I had no idea what I was saying. She helped me learn her department so I could lead more effectively. She did not mind that we were close in age, instead it seemed to make us bond better. I knew that I had nothing to worry about when she was working. I could trust her to lead her department with little to no supervision. She catches on quickly to the quirks of people and by the time she left the company she was able to tell what I wanted from hand motions from across the room that customers had no clue what they meant. Her and her team had a language that they used to talk about business in front of costumers in a way that wasn't alienating to customers and still communicated effectively about the needs of the department. That alone was a valuable skill that I wish the rest of the store had learned.
Navya was one of my favorite employees for many reasons. She was a hard worker, honest, and approachable. She would bring ethical concerns to my attention and helped the loss prevention team many times with difficult matters.
Anyone who has Navya on their team has a good employee. Navya will work on the toughest projects even with no praise or encouragement, which was sadly the environment she often worked in due to it being retail. This was especially true during the holidays. Navya can keep her cool even when things are tough and aggravating. Anyone who has worked retail during the holidays understands how hard things can get. Navya survived and lead her team during that stress without a single complaint.
I wish I had found a way to make her stay, but she deserves a job that will actually challenge her and use her skills in a way that this retail job never would have done. The best advice I can give you is give her a chance. You won't regret the decision. She is one of the few people I have worked with that could admit to her mistakes (though they were few and far between) and could admit to not understanding something. Navya will do the best with what she has and she will try to better herself every chance she gets. By the time she had to leave, she could have probably done my job without any issue. I had recommended her for a promotion, but she did not have the right availability for the position while she was still going to school. "
