Nay Win Naing was born in 1988 at Keng Tung, Eastern Shan State, Myanmar and is a member of the Akha ethnic group. He received his first degree in Law from Yadanapon University, Mandaly in 2009 and proceeded to graduate with a Master of Political Management from Aldersgate College, the Philippines in 2015. Nay Win also received a Diploma in Political Science from Yangon University, Yangon, Myanmar in 2016.Nay Win has a long history of working in the political and legal fields as a Consultant and a Lawyer since 2011. In 2012, he served his internship in the “Parliament” (lower house) for supporting the commissioner in the law drafting process. After serving in the legislative sector, he gradually began to work in the Non-Government sectors. Since 2013, he has been working with serveral organizations as a consultant, trainer and lawyer, organizing trainings, workshops and public campaigns.Later in 2016, Nay Win co-founded The Filth Pillar, which is a nonprofit rights and legal based organization with a mission of strengthening democratic institutions in Myanmar, and is currently running the organization as the Program Director and Lawyer.Building upon over ten years’ experience in the legal field, his expertise includes conducting trainings and providing legal consultation on politic, Labour rights and legal issues with diverse groups of peoples and communities.Nay Win is an author who has successfully published “Succession of the Union“ book in 2018, lead-author of “Anti-human trafficking legal education” book in 2020, lead-author of “Women, Gender Based Violence and Law” book in 2022 and lead-author of “Women Journey to Justice” book in 2023.
