In my role as Portfolio Manager, I am responsible for the Analytical function for Bank of Melbourne and BankSA Property Finance, both are divisions of St. George Bank. The two businesses collectively account for a property book totalling $3.5bn. Exposure size ranges from $5m to $100m across all major property asset classes.The Analytical function is a separate vertical to the Sales and Risk functions. Our primary responsibilities include working closely with Sales to structure transactions, undertake due diligence, ensure transaction risks are appropriately mitigated and prepare credit submissions for final approval. I have full oversight and responsibility in reviewing and supporting transactions sponsored by the Sales team to Risk ensuring risk and return is appropriately balanced. As such, my role is an important cog in shaping the type and quality of the property book of Bank of Melbourne and BankSA.
