– Worked in the MeadwestVaco Systems Execution and Support (SES) division. This division is one of the primary bases that drives innovation through automated machine design to the wider corporation. – Responsible for the electrical design and programming of three new platforms to be used in the pharmaceutical industry:1. Blister Insertion machine operating at 300 packs/min utilizing 26 continuous and 33 changeover servo motors.2. Cartoner operating at an incoming 300 packs/min utilizing 40 continuous servo motors and 30 changeover servo motors.3. Palletizing Robot Cell utilizing a KUKA 4-axis palletizing robot.– The servo solution used is Bosch Rexroth’s MI integrated motor and drive platform, which allowed for a distributed architecture. Bosch controls follow IEC 61131 standards. – Integrated multiple peripherals for these platforms including: vision system, check-weigher, laser marker, labeler, gluing machine, RFID read/write devices.– Designed with strict adherence to Category 3 safety standards.– Created a standard package for electrical CAD design, using AutoCAD Electrical and all of its automated capabilities including Terminal Block Editor, Report Generation, BOM. Created multiple Lisp routines.– Defined the standards of electrical design for the electrical department in collaboration with the mechanical and electrical group.

– TEC Automation is an OEM/Systems Integrator specializing in robotic automation.– Responsible for the design of the TEC Controller – a standardized robot cell controller that utilizes a decentralized system architecture. It allows for the replication of 60-75% of the electrical design from project to project.– Typical responsibilities would involve the design of the electrical controls cabinet using AutoCAD, creating the BOM, programming of the controls i.e. PLC, HMI, robot and then to perform a shop test and commissioning onsite.– Completed 3-5 unique projects per year from inception to delivery, which required apprehension of new technology and tools in a short time frame.– Proficient in multiple robot systems: Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Staubli, Motoman.– Proficient in designing controls on multiple PLC platforms: Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE.– Proficient in multiple HMI/SCADA software packages.– Designed the website for the company using Wordpress Content Management System in collaboration with the sales team and management.

– Grenzebach is a robotics/automation machine handling integrator for the glass and building products industries.– Last completed project was a Static Loading and Unloading robotic applications which transfers glass from a tilting platform above a conveyor packing it onto a rack and vice versa. Project utilized four KUKA heavy payload robots KR500. Developed application from scratch as well as defined standards for Grenzebach programming.– Programmed, integrated, commissioned several Pick on the Fly (POTF) robotic systems which transfers glass from a dynamic, mobile position on a conveyor packing it onto a rack. I have traveled internationally (Germany, Turkey, China, Mexico) commissioning these systems into glass plants.– Performed structured training for the supervisors, operators and maintenance personnel for the above systems. Wrote the technical documentation for systems including installation procedures, operators and maintenance manuals.– Assisted and consulted on the robotics and controls system for the High Speed Stacker (HSS) robotic system, with emphasis on the programming and configuration of the KUKA robot and Allen Bradley PLC networking configuration. The HSS system is utilized for packing small size glass at faster speeds using KUKA medium payload robots.– Performed feasibility testing on projects utilizing KUKA simulation software.– Trained and certified in the KUKA Robot advanced/expert programming.– Trained in ANSI/RIA R15.06-1999 Safety Standards – safety requirements for Industrial Robots and Robot Systems.– Utilized and programmed Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and PanelView HMIs for shop tests with the robots.
