Growing up, I was a shy, introverted kid. Pursuing education in Journalism and Communication was a way for me to push myself out of my comfort zone and engage with people in some of the most challenging, fast-paced environments that the media and television industry offers—environments that people either love or hate. I always thought I would end up as a writer, assistant director, or producer in indie movies, as I loved independent, non-mainstream cinema. However, as I progressed, everything felt 'meh' at best. I wanted to learn something different and embark on a new path.My transition into Learning and Development happened because I left lasting impressions on people I'd worked with in the media industry. I worked hard and learned on the job as an Instructional Designer. Working with some fantastic teams, I realised I had unexplored skills when it came to working with people.My biggest strength is my ability to read people. I enjoy spotting skills and talents and nurturing them. In my previous role, I built and led a successful team in L&D. For me, growth means helping others grow, discover, and develop their skills. My greatest satisfaction comes from reaching a position of influence within an organisation where I can advocate for others.I'm currently back in school to refine my strengths in strategic thinking, business development, and change management.
