Since 2010, following my graduation from ASU, my involvement in the realm of cultural exchange has been extensive. My journey commenced with a role as an International Affairs Director at OCEAN, a non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring high school exchange students from diverse countries worldwide. At OCEAN, an average of 150 students annually were sponsored from various nations. During my role at the organization, I was involved with the recruitment of international students, volunteer host families and local representatives. Due to the exigencies of the Covid-10 cries, I had to part ways with OCEAN. After that change, I was hired to work at Arizona State University as an International Student recruiter and been with the admissions department since then. It has been a wonderful experience working at ASU, being engaged with the recruitment process, assisting international students across the globe and working along side my colleagues in the admissions department. Additionally, I started my own non-profit organization, ARISE USA, with my friend, Laura Bondell where we sponsor high school exchange students from various countries around the world. These students come to the United States to participate in a high school exchange program for the school year. As a matter of fact, my family, has opened our home and hearts to an exchange student from Brazil who will stay with us until June 2024. I find great fulfillment in my career, recognizing that my joy lies in assisting international students and participating in the diverse aspects of the recruitment process.
