This consists of a printed study guide available in the form of a book form Amazon, podcasts which can be downloaded from iTunes, on-line e-learning and face to face or on-line workshops. The Parallel Learning System maximises the opportunities to learn while reducing time in the classroom.

I have been appointed to Chair ASPECT for the next two years. During this time “I want to investigate the feasibility of establishing ASPECT as a formal trade association. It is something that has been discussed for a few years, but now that we have established a memberships fee then now is the time to investigate the next stage in this development of the association. Second, I would like to build on the membership survey started in the last few years. I would be very interested to see if we can produce a market trends report. It would be interesting to see what members think about the current and future trends in the market. We face an uncertain time over the next few years, and good market intelligence is going to be vital to our membership in navigating these tricky waters. Finally, I would like to increase the profile of ASPECT with training providers and customers. I hope we can get some opportunities to speak at conferences, events and exhibitions to share the benefits of ASPECT with a wider community”

In addition to continued business development, team development and account management activities within the Rail Division, Paul has a key input to overall company strategy, including JVs and partnerships. This included the diversification of the Rail Division into other transportation and infrastructure industries. Key client engagement during this period included project management coaching and facilitation for a major post merger integration at Siemens, a training needs analysis for the 4000 staff within Network Rails Infrastructure Investment Division and account management of major accounts at TfL and Network Rail. Paul still enjoys delivering introductory and foundation level PM training for a wide range of clients.

Paul was given P&L responsibility for the Rail Division and successful achieved rapid growth in both turnover and contribution. Business Development activities during this period included cold calling campaigns, marketing seminars, exhibitions, leading major tendering (and normally winning) exercises, often in combining strategic partners. Key client engagements during this period included the winning and development of bespoke advance project and programme management for Transport for London, business risk management for TfL (including e-learning) and significant programmes for Grant Rail, First Engineering, Jarvis Rail and Scott Wilson Railways.

Paul’s primary responsibility during this period was the management of the Network Rail account. This resulted in significant growth in scope and volume of services supplied to Network Rail by PMProfessional. Key client engagement during this period included development and delivery of GRIP training (GRIP is Network Rail’s project process) to 1500 delegates within Network Rail, management of partner and associate engagements with the client.

Paul's primary responsibility was the development and delivery of bespoke and certification training to a wide and varied range of clients (from AMEX to Wier). From the start Paul was involved in business development as an individual or as part of a team. The most significant win during this period was the national contract for Network Rail training in March 2002.

Prior to joining PMProfessional, Paul was the Change Programme Manager for Westinghouse Signals, a major supplier of signalling equipment to the Rail Industry. Paul was responsible for leading the project management office, which included 20 planners and 5 risk analysts. He also development of project management procedures, the development and delivery of a tiered project management training programme for 600 staff (accredited by the APM), the design and deployment of a project review process, the development of IT tools to support project management processes and the measurement of business benefits.

Paul has a detailed understanding of the design, operations and construction of nuclear power stations as a result of eleven years in Nuclear Electric and its predecessors. Roles during this period include project manager, secondments to corporate planning, outage management, remote operations and inspection of Magnox, AGR and PWR plant.
