And as an immigrant kid, it was a necessity.In school, I was among those that got the highest grades. Until I took Computer Science in college. I was “one-upped” by a classmate (at least that’s how I interpreted it) and that was all it took for me to give up.I stopped going to class, started to party and got bad grades as a result. Eventually I got kicked out of school as I plummeted down a destructive path.A few months later, I got an unwelcomed wake-up call. One of my aunts, the one I was closest to, was given a few months to live. Her death made me realize I was headed in a direction I didn’t want. So I changed course. I figured out what success looked like for me and mapped out what I’d have to do to get there. And I did it.I went back to school. Changed to a major that was more aligned with my strengths. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA.During my job search I reconnected with an old friend, and it started my entrepreneurial journey. When I look back on how far I’ve come, if I could go back in time I wouldn’t change anything. Because now I get to share with others the very resources that made me who I am today.
