I pursue the mission of working to encourage informed and active civic participation through education and advocacy by- Advocating for voter access reforms on the state level by meeting with elected officials to communicate legislative priorities, and provide testimony on legislation in line with LWV Ohio's policy positions on elections, voting, and democracy. - Training local Leagues and other voter advocates on voter outreach, with a focus on serving historically disenfranchised communities and other populations that may be uninformed or disadvantaged. - Working with voter advocates to support county boards of elections and advocate for better voter policies on the local level. - Creating social media graphics to support educational campaigns on civic engagement and voting. Providing legislative updates for members on priority issues in our monthly email communications. - Writing articles for the LWV Ohio newsletter on issues related to voting and elections, and/or the state Legislature. - Mobilizing action on issues at key moments during the legislative process, through phone calls, letter writing, and LTEs. - Working with other organizations on the state and local level to collaborate and build power on key issues.- Training and supporting high school and college interns who are interested in or pursuing careers in social justice.- Supporting the LWVO Volunteer Lobby Corps with regular training and support.
