As an interim Chief Digital Officer who joined the company just 2 weeks before the COVID pandemic break, I had the opportunity of experiencing a most agile and fulfilling experience: Assisting the employees to switch to home-office, supporting systems 24/7 uptime, and even relocating a warehouse during the pandemic.During my period in Solmaz, I had the opportunity to draw a strategic plan for the digital transformation of the business that I also presented during Solmaz's Turquality award application. This was a memorable period for me where I learned a lot about "logistics, warehousing and customs brokerage".

I carried on all activities in topics related -but not limited to- finance, accounting, HR, facilities, legislation and government relations with contractual, negotiation and purchasing responsibilities in all aspects of the company.I built good relations with multiple government bodies, universities and related companies to increase awareness in the semiconductor industry.

I was the Design Centre Country Manager of Dialog Semiconductor in Turkey.Starting from green field and raising up to 14 engineers in 2012, I helped bring up the company and expanded it to be the biggest ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) research & development (R&D) company in Turkey. In addition to my general company management roles, I assumed the role of Project Manager in ASIC and IP development for our global customers. Our team successfully designed three highly integrated analog-digital IC products for a major mobile devices company, and we ran high-tech R&D activities in top-notch silicon process technologies to avail useful arsenals of IPs for Dialog Semiconductor products.During achieving these business results that were crowned with government incentives, I also worked on developing an innovation environment for the team members to nourish their skills so they can become renowned members of the greater Dialog family. I also helped with the development of four team leaders into managerial roles.

I managed the supply chain of the business unit; raw materials and parts supply planning, product and production planning from/to local and worldwide suppliers/channels.Highlights:(1) Was decision co-maker for selection, evaluation, planning of parts and raw material suppliers in plastics, aluminum, rubber, sheet metal, cast iron, concrete, electronics, components, harness, etc. I also managed supplier relations and was appointed to the role of "Ombudsman" to solve conflicts between suppliers, purchasing, engineering, quality, after sales services, assembly, and production departments.(2) Managed supply & logistics of parts & finished goods, to/from plants in China and Russia.(3) Led an SAP-supported project to decrease materials stocks in all plants of the company across the world, reporting to the CEO and improving worldwide “tied stock” by multimillions of euros.(4) Initiated and led novel automation & systems improvement projects for warehouse & forklift optimization, job shop scheduling, mobile product tracking; availing reduction in OPEX.(5) Adapted and used combined techniques of Theory of Constraints, LEAN Management (Kaizen, 5S, Oobeya, Poka-Yoke, etc.) and 6Sigma during all aforementioned improvement activities & projects.(6) Had an important role in customer relations of the plant: Made presentations of new products to customers abroad and sales/marketing divisions, appearing in the media many times. Planned life-cycle of products together with the supply chain. Triggered gimmick & product projects according to market trends, especially for the European white goods market.

I was responsible for management of all IT systems (i.e., computers, servers, telephony, networking, power systems) and a majority of software development projects (both in-house and outsource) of the Cayirova campus of Arcelik, in addition to management of electromechanical automation systems design and procurement projects for the Washing Machine Plant.Highlights:(1) Finalized a 7m delayed Automatic Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS) project in 5m.(2) Led and sponsored relatively innovative projects (ancestor to Industry 4.0) involving quality control via artificial vision, JIT assembly and materials tracking, product history tracking with wireless technologies and digital signage. (3) Was a member of “Company IT Hardware Standards” and “Company Software Standards” Committees.

I was responsible for the management of all production engineering activities of the Washing Machine Plant of Arcelik AS in Istanbul.Highlights:(1) Managed all production engineering activities of the Washing Machine Plant. These included areas such as new product introduction, make or buy analysis, product & factory feasibility studies, investment planning & procurement, facility layout planning, simulation; mold, apparatus & gage design, motion-time measurement, operations management, operations design, capacity planning & constraints management for the plant and suppliers.(2) Was decision authority for all plant investments of the Cayirova Plant and some investments of the Russia and China plants (machines, molds, dies, automation systems, test & QA equipment, etc), plant layout, building expansion, manpower and operations management for plastics, aluminum and rubber injection, assembly, sheet metal forming, die casting, etc.(3) Was decision co-maker for selection, evaluation, quota planning & operations planning of parts suppliers in plastics, aluminum, rubber, sheet metal, cast iron, concrete, painting, coating, etc.(4) Coordinated knowledge dissemination in between all production engineering departments of the company, and was the sponsor of countless projects for manufacturing excellence.

I was responsible for management of all IT and IS systems of Arcelik AS Eskisehir campus, in addition to leadership in manufacturing automation systems and business process applications projects for Eskisehir, Romania & Russia Refrigerator Plants.Highlights:(1) Was leader and project champion of projects such as “Product Design Knowledge Base“, “Mixed Agile Production”, “Management of AS/RSs with RF/IDs for JIT Kanban Material Management”, several workflow and automation projects that were ancestors to Industry 4.0.(2) Was a visionary leader in Total Production Management (TPM) – specifically plant maintenance (Keikaku Hosen) activities.(3) Co-implemented a Project Management office and methodology for the Refrigerator plant.(4) Founded an Automation Center of Excellence in Refrigerator & Compressor Plants where the experience was disseminated to other plants of the company across the world - in research and development of computer-aided manufacturing and assembly equipment design.
