Dr. Alsaleh is an Associate Professor of Toxicology, College of Pharmacy (COP), King Saud University. He earned a MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada and a PhD in Toxicology with a specialization in Nanotoxicology from the University of Colorado, USA. Dr. Alsaleh’s research is primarily focused on addressing questions related to the safety of nanomaterials particularly the ones used in biomedical applications and nanomedicine. Dr. Alsaleh has been working as Co-vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research (COP), mainly on projects and initiatives related to improving the research ecosystem such as the development and execution of Research College Strategy. He has also been serving as Associate Editor at the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal (ISSN: 2213-7475) that belongs to the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society (SPS). Dr. Alsaleh authored and co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and he received several awards including the Heim Award (Harold C. Heim Endowment) in recognition of his outstanding research and scholastic achievement during his doctoral studies. He founded and has been leading a research group at the COP carrying out molecular and preclinical toxicology research. Dr. Alsaleh was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Nanotechnology Association (NTA), the first Saudi nonprofit organization specialized in nanotechnology with the goal to raise awareness on the importance of nanoscience and applications of nanotechnology across the different industry sectors. Dr. Alsaleh has served in several key committees at KSU including the Standing Committee for Planning Scientific Research and Strategies. He has also been working as a consultant for Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) as part of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Drug and Poison Information Center (NDPIC), and the Consultative Committee for Cosmetic Safety of the Vigilance and Benefit-Risk Assessment Executive Directorate.
