Contracted Operational Meteorologist for the Denver Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD). Responsible for storm monitoring and issuance of real-time forecast products via the UDFCD ALERT System as needed during periods of high hazard. Served as the UDFCD’s point of contact for local government, law enforcement and partnering agencies. Trusted with dissemination of time-sensitive products, including hazards to life and property, to jurisdictions throughout the District. Radar Meteorologist and Operational Forecaster for Skyview Weather. Responsibilities include real-time monitoring of hazardous and severe weather conditions, composing detailed, client-specific weather forecasts, notification and dissemination of a variety of meteorological products, and providing operational weather support to a diverse group of customers throughout the United States. On-call meteorologist for Douglas County, Colorado OEM providing spot forecasts for active fire incidents.

Boulder. Co

Collected detailed field data on snow, weather and avalanche conditions in the Colorado backcountry. Collaborated regularly with CAIC forecasters in satellite offices to analyze snow, weather and avalanche observations and determine current and future trends in avalanche danger. Extensive collaboration with the National Weather Service (WFOs Boulder, Grand Junction). Office duties included writing accessible and technically accurate products on snow and avalanche conditions, daily weather forecasts for backcountry zones and highway corridors, and a diverse list of office tasks and coordination efforts for the CAIC office in Boulder, CO. Responsible for community outreach and education, including teaching avalanche concepts and safety techniques to a diverse audience of students. Supported other avalanche safety operations including mechanized ski operations, backcountry guiding operations, and search and rescue groups throughout Colorado.

Haines, Alaska

Mountain guide for a commercial heliskiing operation in SE Alaska. Demonstrated proficiency in accordance with the Alaska Heliskiing Operations Plan, while forging a close relationship with pilots from Coastal Helicopters (Juneau, AK ). Possessing intimate knowledge of some 1200 square miles of permitted terrain in the Chilkat Range surrounding Haines, AK was a requirement. Daily snowpack analysis in the field along with graphical and verbal presentation following daily operations. Bi-daily weather forecasts every 12 hours required detailed analysis of a variety of meteorological resources and surface operations in the surrounding forecast area. Worked closely with the snow safety director compiling morning briefings, outlining safety protocols and expected trends, along with communicating this data to pilots and staff through a variety of mediums.

Jones Pass, Colorado

Director for all snowpack and weather-related operations at Powder Addiction, including but not limited to: issuing operational avalanche forecasts and bulletins, zone-specific weather forecasts, detailed record-keeping of the seasonal snowpack, and snowcat operator safety. Provided accurate field observations and recorded snowpack data to other mechanized operators in the area, regional avalanche forecast center (CAIC), in addition to regular dialog and collaboration throughout the winter season. Management of weather and avalanche portions of Powder Addiction’s annual guide training program. This included instructing new and present staff on up-to-date safety protocols, equipment use, snowpack analysis, and proper record-keeping techniques.
